Vehicle Crime in Rochester Riverside |

Good Morning,
We are asking residents in the Rochester Riverside area to remain vigilant following numerous reports of thefts from vehicles on the night of 26th October 2026. In many cases, offenders target vehicles that have been left insecure or where valuables have been left on display. Even items of little value can attract opportunistic thieves and result in damage to your vehicle. To help protect your property, please consider the following advice: ✅ Always lock your vehicle, even if leaving it for a short period of time. ✅ Ensure all windows, sunroofs and doors are fully closed and secured. ✅ Remove valuables from your vehicle, including bags, wallets, mobile phones, laptops, tools and loose change. ✅ Do not leave items on display. If you must leave belongings in your vehicle, secure them out of sight before reaching your destination. ✅ Park in well-lit areas where possible and make use of secure parking facilities. ✅ Consider fitting additional security measures such as steering wheel locks, alarms or dash cameras. ✅ If your vehicle has keyless entry, store keys away from doors and windows and consider using a signal-blocking pouch. If you witness suspicious behaviour around parked vehicles, or have any information that may assist enquiries, please report it to Kent Police by calling 101 or online. In an emergency, or if a crime is in progress, always call 999. Together, we can help reduce opportunities for crime and keep our community safe. Officers will be patrolling the area and conducting enquires in the area over the coming days, so should you see them, feel free to stop and chat!
